Martin Usborne lives in London and works as a professional photographer, has written a number of books. He wrote to me last year for information about the plight of the galgos. He has just returned to London after spending a week with the galgos and podencos of Malaga. You can read the full story, including a link to his blog 'A Year to Help' with the story of his trip, here.
This year's Christmas Card has been designed by my friend Anji Ratcliffe, a self-taught artist and keen animal lover. The card features two Christmas Tree baubles with a galgo pup head and a podenco pup head. It is printed on 210gm white card and the inside message is 'Merry Christmas' in 7 languages. All proceeds from the sale of this card will help pay vet fees etc for rescued galgos and podencos.
Judy Kleinbongardt is passionate about podencos. She has her own website and she has also written a book about the Podencos, which concentrates on the podencos from Spain - from the organisations and the perreras. It has received very favourable reviews. If there is anyone fluent Dutch/English who would be willing to translate it, please get in touch with either Judy or me.
