From Sandy at Galgos Rescue Almeria
We have named the little podenca who recently came into our care Luna. Despite her fragile figure and the tough past she undoubtedly carries with her, she showed herself to be brave and strong when we took her to the vet where she underwent a full check-up. Her weight is still on the low side, but with loving care and the right nutrition, that is only a matter of time. Her ears were carefully cleaned and everything was checked carefully.
Because her immune system is still vulnerable, we decided to only have an identification chip placed today and to take a blood sample. Fortunately, that sample brought good news: Luna tested negative for the most common Mediterranean diseases.
The next step is planned for Friday: her first vaccinations.
Every step towards recovery and a new life involves costs. Anyone who wants to contribute to Luna's medical care is more than welcome.
We will of course keep you informed of her progress. Little Luna deserves a future full of warmth and safety — and thanks to your help, that future is getting closer every day.
