From The Green Olive Association
22nd February - of Olvera, this little dog has been around our town for a few days, yesterday she was run over and as a result one of her paws is injured. We're trying to get her out of the street but she's very scared, also we couldn't make a routine to be able to set up the trap cage outside of our working hours. We ask you, please, not to try to catch it and if you see it in any area, inform us about the place and time, if possible to do it privately via WhatsApp to 637377560 to avoid further harm.
27 February - Neighbors of Olvera, we can't believe it... Today we wanted to give you the great news that the dog with the injured leg was rescued but the situation is different and we are not believing it, we explain why: These days we have been receiving warnings of a podenca with an injured leg in different areas of Olvera, as we have been able, in the free hours we have done routine and also counting on some warnings from neighbors as well. Yesterday after 6 hours of rescue and with a professional rescue team that traveled to Olvera we managed to rescue her!
28 February - We have the first diagnosis: Joint and scapular fracture, no sensitivity in fingers. Brachial plexus avulsion. If in two days she doesn'tanyecover my sensitivity, the limb will be amputated.

3 March - We had our check up with Nyssa today. We had the slightest hope that he'd regained sensitivity but unfortunately he hasn't. Nyssa has no sensitivity, there's only one option, amputate the whole limb, that's right, our podenquita will lose one of her paws. Our precious has suffered a setback again in her life, it wasn't enough to have experienced abandonment, fear, loneliness, being run over and now this...

6 March - NYSSA is out of surgery, everything went well. We just picked her up and she's still a little sleepy from the anesthesia.
Your new life starts small, we feel it's without one limb but as we've already counted, there was no other left.
Despite the pain and anesthesia Nyssa just seeing our companion has started to move her little tail, she was happy to see us. We know it's a long post-op, but we'll be with you

Back to the vet today with Nyssa. The bandage and drainage have been removed, the area has been cleaned and the stitches will be removed next Friday. Nyssa is more confident and as you can see the beginning of the video shows her, she follows our partner and asks for cuddles. Little by little she is taking her steps, she eats and drinks without problems, she is a very calm dog, she loves to lie down and relax.
To be continued...
