2023, a year of ups & downs, joy & sadness, but also a year in which new collaborations were established.
Never before have so many abandoned, neglected and abused souls found their way to our Rescue center. Unfortunately, never before have so many animals been abandoned and dumped either....
If there is any improvement in people’s awareness animals are living beings and not products, we still notice little or nothing of it.
On the contrary, it seems to be getting worse....
2023 was also a year in which a large number of galgos and podencos arrived who needed extra care and attention.
One of them is Milagro, this sweetheart has had to endure so much, but despite everything, she remains a happy and social girl.
We hope to get good news from the traumatologist in January, hopefully amputation will not be necessary.
Unfortunately, some sweethearts have also left this year on their journey over the rainbow bridge. Our own pack wasn’t spared from this either, with great sadness and a broken heart we said farewell to Zina, one of our cats, and to our white Angel Amy.
This sweetheart was our very first galgo and was part of our family for almost 11 years. Both have now found their final resting place and are back home.
A number of projects and renovations were scheduled for 2023, but had to be postponed due to lack of funds. Funds we desperately needed for the medical costs of the large influx of dogs. We were able to realise one much-needed project thanks to a huge donation from GIN.
2023 was a turning point in the lives of 161 dogs.
