Podenca Airi hoping for a forever home

'Hello everyone my name is Airi and I am 2 years 9 months. As for most of my peers (hunting dogs), life in Spain is hard to bear. Working from morning to evening in service of our master, we often suffer from hunger, no or dirty water, a poor place to sleep, etc…..and when you are no longer useful you are dumped.

This happened to me too and I ended up on the street. I felt in a water tank but was able to escape my predicament on my own.

URGENT - Momma Podenca dumped in a perrera to birth!

Heartbreaking that this little Podenca Momma has been dumped in a perrera to give birth. She must be so terrifiied.

'Mon about to give birth, has been dumped in the perrera. She's small, approximately six kg, left to give birth, she and her babies are in danger of dying.

How long will you have to wait dear Koke to find a home. Everything in your life has been abandonment, loneliness, fear and pain. We don't know how much you'll have to wait, but if we can promise you that you'll have a home, because you know dear podenquito, I'm going to tell you one thing "We will never abandon you".

Podenco Mr Red - dumped as trash, he deserves a loving forever home

Please say a huge hello to Mr handsome RED - a completely adorable GOOFBALL despite it all!

Red is a podenco, estimate 2 years old.

Red has had an awful life. He was dumped on wasteland and left to fend for himself. He was spotted and rescuers tried to help him for 5 weeks!

Red was so afraid he just went into hiding, he was spotted around the same area many times. His body condition was very poor. He had to be caught or he would die.

Operation Red was put into place. Sedatives were added to food, Red was then watched from afar. He took the food, while he was asleep he was scooped up and was finally safe.

Should be a fundraiser for podencos

Nice t-shirt. But sad that a company is selling these for their own profit, not for fundraising for podencos.

Holidaying with a blind podenco

Many people are concerned when their dog starts to lose its sight – how will it find its way around? We made the choice to adopt a blind dog as they are always harder to find forever homes. And it has been a revelation, not least because wherever he goes out in public wearing his Blind Dog harness, it’s always a conversation starter with most people.

We adopted Rosie and blind Bo (Bocelli of course!) nearly 2 years ago, they have stayed in kennels whenever we have gone on holiday. The owner is a very quietly spoken calm man who works with rescued German Shepherds so he is very sympathetic to our 2 rescued hounds. However, we’ve always missed having our dogs with us on holiday, for beach walks etc.
