Dear Friends of our CAMILO & ELOY podenco brothers, now proudly going by their new adoptive names MIGUEL & MIGAS, it is incredible to see the strides the boys are taking now on only DAY 3 of their new lives in Germany with their loving forever Mums Regina and Monika and their sweet pod siblings Whoopie and Muffin.
The video of the boys tentatively creeping out of the cosy igloo to explore is from this SUNDAY NIGHT, just hours after they arrived from their long journey from southern Spain to northern Germany! Amazing. And their other video eating side by side. How proud we are of our shy little loves and how grateful we are to their new family, the KeksBande (The Biscuit Gang) for helping Migas-Eloy and Miguelito-Cami to feel this secure and so comfy already.
What wonderful days lie ahead for the boys.. to get to know their woodland garden and all the lovely digging possibilities, and then walks out with Muffin and Whoopie showing our once-so-terrified two how it is done. So these handsome hounds can gradually reclaim their birth-right as the wonderful wild-spirited, independent, yet so loving and comical dogs podencos should be, when not abused and neglected as they so often are in their native Spain. Once just two more of countless "thrown away tools" of the hunting fraternity, Migas and Miguel, tragically abandoned as pups and who have spent all their 8 sad years inside four small kennel walls, you now have all life opening up ahead of you!
It is so emotional to see the boys taking these fantastic steps into their happy new reality: feeling grass beneath their paws after all these years on concrete floors, watching to see what is for "desert" (mini dog frankfurters - wow), and in Miguel's case trying out all the beds! It's making us laugh as he always liked to hog the best bed in their recent quite happy year in the Costapet kennels, and naughty little lad is even eating his cottage cheese bedtime snack in the recumbent. Luckily Migas, our sweet Eloy, there are LOADS more squishy beds to choose from in your new home. OH you two, how happy we feel, all of us who so love you. And there are a lot of us. But no-one more now than your new Mums!
Just tagging the boys' closest extended family members here this time because as our last post demonstrated the full family extends to over 150 (everyone who has helped the boys in lots and lots of ways), as well as numerous fans in their wider club. And FB won't let us tag so many. But this post is most definitely for every single person who has helped the boys on their long tricky journey to reach this happiness and sent with all thanks and besos from M-E and M-C who are feeling properly blessed.
And they send special extra besos y besos for their beloved Christiane and Stacey in Malaga, waved off by them and friends just on Saturday!
