From Polly Mathewson, who has been helping these 2 brothers for many years.
'CAMILO & ELOY are heading home today (23/7/2021) and feel so HAPPY! You can turn up the volume to hear them joyfully whistling!
They also have a very long list of friends who they want to thank.
After the tragedy of spending all of their eight years of life so far "In Kennels & In-Visible" our shy beautiful Spaniards, podenco brothers, ELOY & CAMILO, set off today Friday 23 July to arrive on Saturday 24 July with their wonderful forever family in Germany, Mums Regina Schnelle & Monika Habner and poddie siblings Whoopie and Muffin. This is a dream come true for our two.
The boys have endured so many frightened, lonely and sad years, but this last year has been an increasingly good one since we could move them to Costapet kennels near Malaga for rehabilitation. It's been a year in which they have found increasing confidence and more friends, canine and human, than they could have imagined. Their extended family has become enormous!
Our boys are grateful beyond words or woofs, for all the love they have received from everyone - as am I - one of their 3 temporary Mums and writing this on their behalf.
It's impossible to mention everyone in person who has touched the brothers' lives with kindness, but they do want to make a special mention of some of their closest friends:
Regina Schnelle, Monika Habner Whoopie, Muffin, and spirit pods Biscuit, Cookie and Pie (their Forever Family waiting for them!)
Stacey Lloyd and Christiane Evert (temporary Mums in Malaga who have given immeasurable tenderness, love, time and expertise to the boys. It is impossible to say this enough. Also to your Linda, Aurelio and Benny for support behind the scenes. It has been so special to be the 3 Mums, we could not adore Cami & Eloy more!)
Mari Carmen Valenciano Julian, Rosa Maria Valenciano Julian, Josejuan Martinez Coy (who kept the boys safe for years after they were abandoned to their kennels, with all thanks in the world)
Pilar Pérez López and Rosana Álvarez Bueno (for loving generosity and expertise in helping the boys as vet-behaviourist and trainer)
Everyone at Costapet (the family kennels who have looked after the boys so carefully this year. Particular thanks to owner Karl, to Juan Carlos, David and to vet nurse Natalya Jimenez and expert, patient vet Christelle)
Deborah Ashton, Courtney Bussell, Chris Willott, Marissa Johnston (their 4 loving PodGodMums helping pay kennels every month and always there for the boys with extra donations, love and great care)
Heidi Goll, Monika Regn and so many Windhundhilfe Malaga friends (for the amazing fundraising auction to gift vital funds for the boys' medicines. And for all the canine friendship of the WHM podencos and galgos who the boys will miss and wish them to find the same happiness very soon with a family too)
Angie Robinson (of AVPD for so much support - hosting the Invisibles page and keeping accounts, for kind donations and more) Maggie Moo (cherished "Invisibles" team mate and advice on training) María Casares (of SOS Podenco Rescue -endlessly generous, wise vet advice) Andrea Johnson (of Operation Great Escape, constant pod friend, advisor and ownership help) Kate Goodman (also OGE, for adoption contract support) Jaana Kärnä (homing so many of the boys' kennel friends in Finland and always trying for them too) Michelle Batchelor and Alan Batchelor (of Bedrock - for the boys' months in your kind care) Laura Cording-Harris (of Posh Pods for sewing wonderful escape-proof harnesses)
There are dozens more people, wonderful that thanks to all the continued publicity about these 'Invisibles' they will now experience life in a forever home, as every dog should.
Do enjoy the boys' having a last Costapet treaty time here, and we look forward to sharing their happy homecoming videos soon. Safe travels sweet boys and your companions. We love you Eloy and Camilo, soon to gain your special new names: Migas and Miguelito.
