Podenco Agus looking for a forever home.

This is Agus, and Rosana describes him. A Rehala dog is one kept for hiring out to hunters, they generally live on a chain.

This doll is called Agus, he is a podenco of almost two years and of medium size (about 17 kilos). Besides being extremely handsome, he is adorable, calm inside the house (he likes to sleep a lot), sociable with other furry animals and totally cuddly.

His story has been very sad, I will only say that he was a rehala dog ... He has had a lot of anxiety that has overcome it sleeping in his bed next to his host's bed, and thus he sleeps relaxed and happy. He follows his foster mom everywhere and even though he's a little scared, every day is getting better.

Agus seeks RESPONSIBLE adoption, we believe a couple who loves to go on excursions and life outdoors would be good for him because as a good little bit he enjoys it. Do you want to know more about this furry lover?

Podencos In Need Scotland Virtual Walk 11-13 September

Pam Macleod runs PINS where she rehomes podencos from rescue associations and shelters in Spain. She's raising funds to help with costs involved in preparing rescued podencos to travel to Scotland to forever homes.

I can say that the Canary Podenco suffers from the greatest abuse allowed in SPAIN by all the administrations that have delegated, curiously, the protection of these and other animals.

5 4 2020 FINALLY!! Saturday, April 4, 2020, seven years later of the first complaint finally the ′90 podencos′ have been rescued. A total of 84 dogs were taken to the Bathtub hostel in an action involving the Civil Guard, Local Police and animal protector volunteers.

I took this photo back in 2013 when they were in Los Albarianes (Mogán) and I've been so happy to know that one of the survivors is that white and black podenco you see on your left. I feel like this because I always said only for a dog it would be worth so many years of noise. 115,000 signatures on change, radio, etc so they don't forget about them. I put them even with a brand on Google maps so justice doesn't get lost along the way...

Lanzarote podencos looking for forever homes

'The last flight of Podencos from Lanzarote was in February this year and all those lucky podencos are now in their forever homes.

We were ready to fly these 4 over, then COVID hit and no flights so they have been stuck in residence in the Island. Laura and her team have been making sure the dogs have been taken out on regular walks and spending time with them ..All 4 of them are very comfortable with people spent time with children so ready to be rehomed.

The Podencos on Lanzarote have little chance of finding homes on the Island and limited transport links makes it very difficult to fly them out . So that is where Podenco Friends come in we bring them to the Finca from here there are more opportunities for them to be rehomed.
