The courts of Telde no 1 have taken over the investigation from Seprona against a resident of Aquimes who kept 84 Podencos on a finca held in poor sanitary and hygiene conditions and now they have been transferred to the pound Albergue insular Banaderos .
Along with local police and veterinaries Seprona agents made the decision to enter the finca even though the owner was not present who was later notified to come to the facilities . An inspection revealed of very poor conditions for the animals that endangered their physical integrity and confirmed by a medical report of the veterinarians on site
A total of 84 dogs were seized 78 adults and 6 puppies the majority with different diseases and condition
The owner of the animals is responsible for an alleged crime of mistreatment and animal abandonment typified in the penal code.
