Protectora Scooby - saving the needy hounds

'Elderly dogs, with tumors, with Leishmania or extremely thin... When we rescue animals we do it because they need help and because we’re worried about the fate that might await them without it.

We don’t choose them for their color, size or age, nor do we care if they’re healthy or sick ... We don’t select which dogs to help, we don’t think about whether they’re more or less beautiful or sociable, we don’t even consider if they will be easily adopted or if no one will want to give them a home and they’ll have to spend the rest of their lives with us in the shelter. None of that matters ...

In Scooby we are animal lovers and our main goal is to help the ones most in need as they also deserve the best life possible.

Podenco dumped in garbage truck!

'Terrible! They find a podenco about to be crushed by the garbage truck in Alcanar (Tarragona). Some heartless bastard got rid of him by throwing it into a container.

Fortunately there are also many good people willing to help him and welcome him. Thank you aGOSaGATs for saving his life!

Podenco Pintu in Germany - looking for his forever home.

Pintu, male, 7 months, 62 cm, vaccinated is looking for his own family. He can be visited in his foster home in 70597 Stuttgart. He is social to all dogs, playful, playful and clingy. Podenca Rene - rescued and needing foster to recover from op

Foster home needed urgently for injured podenca.

'We introduce you to René, who had the bad fortune to cross the road, being run over. The luck she had is that the person of the vehicle, he immediately contacted us and the police, and was attending her until the police quickly took her from there to the vet. Since Sunday, she has been debating between life and death, but luckily, it seems to improve.

She has a fractured hip, so she must keep absolute rest. She also had the Perforated Bladder, but the operation has been carried out and improves every day.

She needs a quiet place where she can recover, a small room where she can't move in large spaces and rest until she heals.

Therefore, we ask you maximum dissemination to find her a welcome. We can't take her to the police officers, in no way and we have no shelter.'

Portuguese Podengo Jacinta - deserves a loving forever home

From Dogs of Portugal, such a sad story.

'Jacinta was found on the street, she came to us as a young dog. She was quickly adopted (together with Yuki) and… returned after 3 years. The owners are moving to another country and they say they will live in a small apartment. So they are not taking their dogs with them.

But we realise we should not expect them to care for their dogs. They have neglected them from day 1. When the dogs were returned to us we asked for the books of vaccinations and they said they lost them. “But the dogs were vaccinated!”. We insisted on giving the address of the vet so we could confirm this fact. They indicated “their vet”. The vet is question said they they only saw the dogs once, a few months earlier, when the owners brought them to be euthanized because they were leaving the country. The vet refused to euthanize healthy dogs for that reason. They were never vaccinated there.'

'It's the third visit to us this year for Sandra and Dave and every time they arrive with a suitcase full of treats and goodies for the Podencos .. the dogs now recognise the case for they know it will be full of gifts for them

This video is important to me not only to show the joy of the dogs but that Tilly is there with them ... Two weeks ago she was so sick to the point I made the call to my vets. I stayed awake with her through out the night watching her every breath for I thought her time had come. She is my everything and she was was slipping away and I was falling apart as to lose her would break me. But I under estimated what a strong warrior Tilly is. Yes she is old 17 and half years and no longer can run a marathon and is frail but she is back to shouting at me and getting on with life .. For now I treasure every single minute I get to be with her and she is on the video checking everything out precious moments to enjoy.

From Lanzarote to Canada - Podenco Martino finally found his forever

Happy rehoming story from Bev Farmer of Podenco Friends.

'Martino . 3 years ago this photo just grabbed at my heart a Podenco that was in the perrera on Lanzarote .. This was the 2nd time he found himself in the pound the first time a hunter took him and them when no longer wanted handed him back . Laura Johnson got him out and to safety and when he was ready he flew over to the finca.

Then Valerie Petterson fell in love with him and he made the flight to Canada . He was 8 years old when he was dumped in the perrera .. 8 years being a loyal servant to his masters. He was the most loving and gentle of souls yet that counted for nothing. All that is the past and he has the most amazing life in Canada. He waited many years but finally found his true family and is very much loved.'
