Podenco racing in the Canary Islands?

In The Canary Islands, the podengo, in addition to hunting, seems to be used in races, at least in Fuerteventura. The Information I find is 2012 / 13... does anyone know if these races are still in force today?

Watching the tremendous and abundant abuse of this race on the Islands sickens us - and knowing, also, all the abuse that accompanies the races of galgos on the mainland - it's not crazy to think that after these races there is a lot of misery and suffering of these dogs in the " Lucky Islands'.
