Scooby Medina and Scooby Valladolid - saving podencos and galgos

Maybe you read the news on the Scooby blog or maybe you don´t, but the histories about the trips Scooby makes to save galgos is every time a different one, it´s not that we repeat the same rescues every time. Therefore I put them here again and it's from January until 23 February, so the rescues from December and before are not included:

NAC peaceful march against hunting with hounds in Spain - Sunday 7 February 2016

Marchers in over 14 cities in Spain peacefully protested against the maltreatment and hunting with galgos, podencos, pointers and other hounds and the cruelty inflicted on them by the sub-species who handle them. In Mardrid there were over 2,000 marching. Here's a video of the event. And remember, it's the Spanish marching against the Spanish hunters.

78 podencos with filaria on Tenerife - Project to save them achieved!

You may remember back in February 2016 there was an appeal to help 78 podencos on Tenerife. Here is the news - best of all, all the dogs are clear of the filaria (heartworm). Final result PROJECT TIERRA BLANCA FILARIA FREE nearly 8,000€ worth in heartworm treatments received, thanks! Amazing!

'So many things have happened since we started this wonderful project. Thanks to Podencoworld and dozens of supporters who donated the cost of the treatment for all these podencos.

We received the 78 filaria treatments that were needed and managed to have some extra treatments for the future as thanks to an auction carried out by volunteers of Podencoworld it was possible to create a piggy bank which we have already been using for new filaria positive arrivals.

Axarquia Animal Rescue, Malaga - stunning podencos waiting for forever homes.

When I was at the PAES conference in Murcia in October 2015, I met some lovely ladies from the Axarquia Animal Shelter in Malaga. They have several podencos amongst the dozens of hounds they have in their care. Please get in touch with them direct if you can offer a place in your home and heart for one of them.

Celebrate Dogs Day - Fun Dog Show and Market on Sunday 6th March 2016, Blackpool Sands, Darthmouth

Come visit the Celebration of Dogs Weekend at Blackpool Sands, Dartmouth this March. Building on last years success with an outdoor market, live entertainment and of course a fantastic dog show including agility demonstrations it is set to be the best year yet!

From jewellery to cakes, candles, cookware, cards, home furnishings and various handcrafted nik-naks we will have a wide variety of handmade and commercial items from the best local traders in the South West.

This will be a fun day out with plenty of wonderful stands to browse at Blackpool Sands.

Podenca Lola - from hell on Lanzarote to a happy forever home.

Lola is another Podenca on Lanzarote. This beautiful girl has come on in leaps and bounds! She had a lucky escape after being taken away from the same owner as Angelique. She has made incredible progress and is looking absolutely stunning. Probably experiencing the warmth of a loving home for the first time in her life thank you to her new family!
