It was reported in the Spanish Newspaper La Verdad today (21 8 2015)that a starving podenca had been seen on the roof of an abandoned house. She is now in the care of Bev and Warren of Podenco Friends, who confirm a denuncia has been submitted to Police at the Cartagena Town Hall.
The rescue of a Podenco abandoned on a rooftop
Cartagena Firefighters yesterday (20 8 2015) rescued a Podenca found on the roof of an abandoned house across the street of the Hotel Campomar on the fast lane of La Manga at the height of Algar. They were notified by the legal adviser of the Association for the Defence of Animals (PAES) Maria Jose Xallego.
The female, just a year old and now named Giselle, had symptoms of malnutrition. The hypothesis that she was locked there to die. The group has asked to open a investigation of the owner to search the house and individuals who left the animal there.
Bev says, 'so many people were involved to help Giselle, now our work begins to bring her back to good health.'

Thank you to everyone for saving this poor soul...It is unbelievable that anyone would abandon an animal to die.

Poor girl, there are some evil people out there to lock an animal in a house to starve to death. Lucky girl to land on all for paws and straight into the arms of Bev and Warren. Well done to the firefighters too.

this happened to a galgo aswell but wasn't so lucky bless poor soul there is some evil b------s around
