These podencos were discovered in a finca - chained to the wall so they could barely even lie down - in filth, starving...a denuncia has been made and authorities contacted to help them. A couple were rescued but then the volunteers were accused of trespassing! A petition has been raised to demand the authorities take action against the owner and save the dogs. Please sign and share it.

Delegation of the Government of Andalucia in Jaén
Removal of the animals abused in a finca in Santisteban del Puerto (Jaén)
From: National Association for the defense of the animals Spain
Madrid, Espagne
The National Association for the defence of animals (ANDA) wants to show their concern about the condition of several dogs located on a plot of the Jaen town of Santisteban del Puerto, according to the news which has also appeared in the digital press.
Apparently, some animals are in a sorry sanitary hygienic state, because they are locked with poor ventilation and almost zero input from sunlight. They are also allegedly surrounded by dead bodies and bones of other animals. This situation could cause a situation of serious animal abuse. We state that we wish appropriate measures be taken to protect these animals and punish accordingly the owner or person responsible for them. Nothing has been done, despite the denunciation of the protective arc Natura.
For these reasons we strongly urge you to investigate if animal welfare and hygiene conditions are such, and as described in the news and, in that case, take the appropriate measures according to the current animal protection legislation.

The following are the two latest update, and including pix of a couple of the rescued podencos.
1st update. The association visited again. 'We could not get in, once again we were trespassing.
We believe that dogs are not there, that information has given us by the Civil Guard.
We do not know right now the whereabouts of these animals.
Complaints are already there, and we have started this fight, we must not let it be forgotten, nor tired. We will continue to report on each step we will be giving, do not doubt it. And finally, and once again, we need your support, your outreach and your voice, many people do not, and shout for them.
2nd update 24/11. The volunteers from Arconatura went this morning with bottles of water, food, blankets and longer leads for the dogs but weren't allowed on the land or enter the finca. Also they were told by the Guardia Civil police that the dogs aren't even there any more... Everyone who had started this day with hope, willing to help and full of energy went back home with all the stuff they had carried with them...But the legal denuncia complaints, photos and videos have been put in and should give some legal results soon.
These people did everything the right way procedure during their first visit so the proof is there and has been legally presented so sooner or later the "owner" will" have to say where the dogs are, how they are doing, explain why they were in such poor conditions and hand them in to the authorities.
A lot of followers of Podencoworld have offered their homes to temporarily foster these dogs, in the end, not just 2, but 20 apparently...Fight and updates will continue and the people in Spain will not stop fighting until they have the dogs safe and well.
The pictures say it all, absolutely disgraceful. I have signed the petition and so have thousands of others. Hoping that the dogs are all saved from this life of hell and the perpeatrator is brought to justice.
