Podenca Honey on Lanzarote - deserves her forever family

HONEY - why doesn't this gorgeous girl have a home yet??? She is 1 year old and such a special lady! Heaps of fun, loves to run and play but also loves to cuddle and kiss. She is very intelligent and gets on great with everyone. She walks perfectly on the lead, so much so that even the tiny volunteers can take her out for a walk. A minimal amount of training and this girl will be an absolute dream!

Podenca Willow in Seville - another victim of abuse

Badly abused and left tied to a tree, here is little Willow the podenco.

She has been to the vets and is undergoing treatment for her injuries, skin condition etc.

She is calm and loving which is unbelievable given what she has gone through. Very young and in Seville.

ANUA - rescuing Rosi - needing help

The Spanish hounds are incredible survivors. Here's a tale of one, who now sadly needs help, a Podenco Ibicenco named Rosi.

'Rosi, an abandoned dog but with luck, a girl daily has been carrying the water and food, feeding Rosi other 4 dogs.

Every day for a year, when she heard the noise of the vehicle of the girl, Rosi came to meet, making leaps of joy, but everything changed two days ago, Rosi was not in place, Rosi didn't make an appearance, the girl was expected the worst and so it has been.

The Baranco podenco puppies - beating the bastard who tried to kill them!

This is a road and a ravine in Spain. on 7th September Penelope Guest, who lives nearby, heard some faint cries. She tells the story.

'Well, it's started...the mass killing of podencos. Yesterday I could hear tiny helps, coming from the mountain behind me. John and I climbed up as far as we could, and could see a bag hup higher. John was able to clibe all the way up, and inside the bag were seven newly born podenco puppies. Unable to bring them back up, I called a friend to bring some ropes and a pulley and we were able to bring John and the half-dead pups up.

Podencas on CESE fast track to kill - Valencia perrera

I know many of you will not want to watch these two videos of podencos in a Valencia kill station but for those of you who wonder what it is like, here are two links. Volunteers are trying to save the two dogs. They are on CESE which means the bloody hunters have handed them in on fast track to kill! Video 2 is of a 6 year old podenco who, as you can see, is really traumatised.
