Podenca Chir in Valencia needs a foster or forever home

Introducing Chir - she needs a home rather than going to a shelter.

Kris says 'Just before Christmas a friend answered the call for help of the animal shelter SPAX from Xativa (Valencia ) to give Chir, a podenco of about two years old, a temporary home. Irela herself as a matter of fact needs a lot of help, she is a single, unemployed secondary school teacher and without unemployment (yes, that's quite normal here in Spain ) and already needs to feed a family consisting of two dogs and two cats. Nevertheless she showed her big heart. And my wife and I (not really in a comfortable economical situation either) stepped in and bought the necessary food to get the more than skinny Chir back on her feet.

'Lanzarote is a small island and we have a very limited area in which to re-home dogs. Unfortunately that does not mean of course that dogs are not abandoned. We are a legally registered association and in the nearly 18 months we have been running we have re-homed 107 dogs.

We don't have a refuge and save many dogs from the perrera, which means they go into kennels before going to foster homes or lucky enough to be adopted.

Frans Kamps. Don't give dogs to this man. He is again looking for female dodgs pretending he wants to adopt to give a good home. However, he asbuses the dogs sexually and then kills them. He has already been in court but the punishment did not fit the crime. He is now out there again looking for dogs. Take care and don't forget his face.

Podenca Pepa

A young podenca called PEPA, who appeared this week in Tudela. One of her legs was injured and inflamed. She has their legs has a stroke and inflammation. She's had vet treatment and medication to get the inflammation down. She is currently in a residencia and the rescuers go every day to care for her. She is very nervous and needs a foster home where she could socialize and learn to trust people.

We need help to pay her vaccinations, chip, neutering, etc.

Podencos from Mairena, Valencia, off the street....

4 Podencos rescued from Mairena with LASA and needing help with vet fees, food, and a very sick podenca bitch rescued off the street in Valencia. Mesquegossos association need help with vet fees for her.She has an agressive form of scab and anemia. She was tested on Mediteranean diseases and came back negative! She now has a long way ahead of treatments against the scab. She will go to a foster home, get good high protein food and rest. And Gala in Valencia too. Please help if you can.

Podenca Trixie waiting for her forever

Rosemary reports the story of this little podenca.

'Trixie was found walking along a busy road with a bit of rope tied around her neck, she was skin and bone and very weak when we found her.

She is a smaller podenco about 10 months old and she had mange so we have not been able to blood test or vaccinate but the mange has now completely gone with medical treatment, so we should be able to run the tests in about a week after she has finished the antibiotics. She is very friendly not nervous at all very sweet character.
