I've contacted Maria Casares who is the contact on facebook who is appealing for help for him, and asked her what can be done, that you want to put donations through. Thank you. Will get back to you.

Tragically no one has come forward to offer to foster him so Maria says he will probably be pts tomorrow as, even if money was paid to get him out, there is nowhere for him to go....

Ok, I now have a paypal for money to pay to stop Pedro being killed tomorrow.
mya_tk@hotmail.com It is for Maria Casares, she speaks English. She needs 69 euros to stop his pts. Then there will be the cost of him seeing a veterinary surgeon about his injured leg - as no one will want to adopt a dog with a damaged leg (I've already adopted one, I can't afford another) And also the kennel fees

I've sent a donation from the sale of a couple of books

Beryl, I have put through enough to get Pedro out. Please can you let us know how he is getting on when you hear back from Maria. Thank you.

Not good news...More than enough money has been donated now to get Pedro out but the perrera only let dogs out on a Friday. Because Pedro was not reserved in time yesterday - the perrera office was closed by the time Maria had enough money - he will have to stay for another week. I have asked her if they will feed him, he is so thin I am concerned he won't last another week - his vital organs will start shutting down. If any of you want to ask Maria direct for news, please do - her english is excellent. mya_tk@hotmail.com is her email address - as above for Paypal.

Hi Beryl, this may sound like a silly question but can someone go into feed him or is this not allowed? I just wondered if someone could go in and feed him once a day, this might just see him through until next week. I just can't understand this bureaucratic nonsense from the perrera that he has to wait another week. I will also email Maria direct and keep up to date with what is happening.

Maria says the volunteers will take food in but don't know if they will be allowed to give it to him - and what about the other dogs...it's very difficult. Some perreras take the attitude 'why feed a dog if it's going to be killed' - don't know about this one, but one of the Valencia perreras has a bad reputation.

oh there is no need for this at all i put the money in account now so its there to put stright through when i know pedro is out it will go towards his residence

Oh I understand completely with this. Of course, how can you go and feed one dog and let the others go hungry. What a terrible situation for the rescue people. It's easy for me to sit back and say why, why, why but it is so difficult for the people who are having to deal with this on a daily basis. That is terrible to not feed the dogs. It's bad enough that they are going to die without them having to suffer so much like this.

they dont care kathryn these dogs are just vermine to them so what i would like to know is does these dogs starve in most of these perreras for days weeks even or does this come in to efect after their 7 days when no one addopted them and sometimes that goes on for weeks what a crap life the majority of animals have just to meet their death and in horrid ways most of the time the only way to stop this is for all governments in every country to ban breeding on every domestick animal for a while

Maria says a bank transfer of 90 euros has been made to the perrera for Pedro to leave, for a wormer and for food. He was reserved by telephone and today the volunteers will go to the perrera to take care of this and also for the microchip for the French association A.I.R.E. to whom he is going for rehabilitation and rehoming.
Well done everyone.

I am happy to tell you that Pedro is being adopted by a Belgian lady and next week he will be travelling to his forever home in Liege.
