This is a tale about a delightful little podenca named Bella, who is looking for her forever family. Bev Farmer takes up her story.
Bella has been tested for Leishmania, Heart worm etc and all negative; She has all her vaccinations, microchip and passport and can travel (to the UK if desired) from the 14th Jan.
Let me tell you about her. After some research, I have got to the bottom of the story. She had been living on the streets for some time in Cadiz . Someone took her in, she was covered in ticks & fleas, very thin and had a bad ear infection which they had her treated for it. But, like many people, they did not have the space to keep her and had tried for few weeks to re-home her with no success. The only solution was to put her in a perrera. Luckily, after an appeal was sent out, she was saved from that fate and brought to Murcia where we collected Bella at a train station. These people didn't have a car, so they made a real effort to help Bella.
Bella is about 10 months old, a small Podenco Andaluz currently about 7.5 kilos and I imagine when fully grown will be no more than 10/11 kilos. She is very playful yet calm and obedient and not any trouble. She likes a cuddle and loves her walks and sits and waits at the door for her lead to be put on. You can let her run free off the lead and she will come back to you. She is friendly with other dogs and children and ok with cats. At first she is timid with people but soon becomes friends. I have started doing obedience training and dog agility with her and she has picked it up very quickly.
The best word I can use to describe Bella is delightful, she will make someone a wonderful companion or fit into a busy family because she has such an easygoing nature.
Like many Podencos, Bella has had a tough start to life and would be nice to see her settled, If anymore is interested in offering Bella a forever home please contact on email [email protected]
she is beutiful hope she gets her home
