Podenco Canario Lelo - in Lincolnshire waiting for his forever home

However hard the rehoming associations work to fit the right dog with the right home, sometimes situations change and that happened for this stunning Podenco Canario from Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. Here's what Rick says.

'This stunning boy has been returned to us after only 5 months in his 'forever' home - and not because of anything HE did wrong! The reason given by the family is 'we couldn’t spend enough time with him as we have started extra duties at church.'

Anna, Xativa, Valencia - abandoned podenca needs somewhere to go

This is an urgent appeal for someone to take in this beautiful young podenca. She is in Anna, near Xativa in the Province of Valencia. This is the story from the lady who wants to save her.

'I have been feeding her since October. I live in Anna which is about 20 minutes from Xativa. I have contacted PEPA and she is on their website but they have nowhere for her to go. I have also contacted SOS Galgos. No one seems able to help.

She has a problem with her leg and she will need an operation which I would be happy to pay for. I do not want to remove her until I have somewhere for her to go.

Urgent appeal, white podenca needs room somewhere - please help

URGENT APPEAL This beautiful starving young white podenca was found on the streets in Castellon by some boys and has been shut in a storage room.

'The boys says that if they canb't find anyone to take it, they will put it back on the street, as they have a problem with the neighbours! We can't take in any more dogs, we have 15 in kennels including two which are very sick. Please can someone take her urgently.'

Help this little Podenca Andaluz in Seville

Podenco Andaluz come in 3 sizes, small, medium and large! I have a small, Bebe, she is pocket sized but has THE biggest personality and keeps 5 galgos in order!

Here's another very young podenca, now named Conchi-Pepa/Tecla, abandoned, pregnant by a bigger dog. After the puppies, she has been sterlised. She has recovered well from the operation and is in a foster home. But Macu needs help to pay the vet fees, and she desperately needs to find this little podenca her forever home. Podenca abandoned on the streets, Galgo Connection Spain saves her

Another little soul, abandoned on the streets at just 4 months old! This is little podenca Mina, found with an injured/malformed back leg, which has now been operated on successfully, making her a typical puppy, happy and playful.

Little Podenca Andaluz Lucy, lucky to survive an horrendous attack

You may remember little podenca Lucy, recently rescued from beside a railway track. She was going through the process of having her EU passport prepared when she was the victim of a terrible attack by bigger dogs which nearly killed her. The second such incident I have reported recently.

She has umpteen wounds and stitches all over her body; she has a puncture wound almost on the jugular - a little bit closer and Lucy would not be with us. A miracle that she is.
