Two more podencos desperately needing help.

This is Reina, an Ibizan Podenca, probably no more than a year old. She appeared at Easter on the streets of Valencia. She has been rescued and is currently in a foster home. She is sweet and loving, submissive at the moment but with care and love, her character will emerge.

This is Johnny, a podenco X. He had been running around the roads for 4 days! He has an injured foreleg which has been put in a splint by the vet. He now needs a foster home where he can recover. He is very kind, needs feeding and care and a forever home, of course.

Podenca Blanca in Jaen - looking for her forever home

This beautiful podenca needs a forever home. This is her recent story.

'Blanca is a beautiful 3-year podenquita which was adopted last week in Barcelona.
Today is called the adopter and says he wants to return it because the dog follows her everywhere and is overwhelming. Blanca has been abused and needs a home to help her overcome her fears. We cannot let her return to our shelter in Jaén. We are saturated and there are fights every day. Some die when attacked by other dogs. Blanca does not deserve that after having experienced the warmth of a home.

Podenca Nana - abandoned on the streets of Jaen

Here's another beautiful podenco abandoned on the streets of Jaen, lucky to escape being injured on the road. She's affectionate with females, but terrified of men (what a surprise!). We've have a temporary home for her but we need to find somewhere else before 10th May. Has anyone room for her?

Beautiful podenco Bo - waiting for his forever family - can you help?

Here's another podenco desperately waiting for his forever family.

'Hi all, I'm Emi. Arantxa, a volunteer from the kennel Etxauri. This is Bo, who who loves and does not understand how nobody has even noticed him.

BO came in August 2009 from a seedy kennel in Valencia. His kennelmate Scooby died, and Bo was alone and sad. We rescued him from there 2 years ago and he is still waiting in our kennels, but why? Bo is a hound, Ibizan and Portuguese. Beautiful, noble, good and happy in essence, loves to walk in the mountains and is obedient and loyal. Bo needs a home, but mostly, Bo deserves a family.'

Jaen podenco urgently needs help, anyone room for him?

Can anyone in the Jaen area help this podenco which has been living in a park in Jaén for over a month. He's loving and kind, but he needs somewhere to go because he has a huge lump on his back which hurts him a lot, maybe an abcess, from a wound or a bite. The shelters in Jaen are all full to overflowing, can anyone else take him.

Podenca Resu - rescued by Pro-Galgo, safe in their hands

This is the story of Resu, a podenca rescued by Pro-Galgo. Here's what Mo Swatek says.

'Resu was found heavily pregnant, starving with a badly broken leg. She was totaly bloated because of the accident, the puppies had died in her womb and she was already suffering the consequences of septicemia. During the emergency caesarian, her heart stopped 3 times but the vets managed to bring her back to life. She was called RESU from resurrection. WHAT A FIGHTER OUR PODENCO GIRL.

Scooby Auction 15th May - Donations urgently needed

Dear friends,

It is hard to believe that this year will be our 3rd Scooby North America Auction. Actually, we are having 2 auctions this year. One in June and another in December. In the past two years, with your help we have raised enough money to help install a much-needed tile floor in the Hospital and Surgery Center and build numerous brick shelters in the paddocks at the Scooby Animal Refuge in Medina del Campo, Spain.

This year we are hoping that with your generosity we can build a much needed puppy house. The puppy house will be fully insulated, including the floor. There will be whelping boxes for mom and her pups and a doggy door for the mothers to use the outside areas before the puppies are ready. There will also be room for them to play and romp around and of course beds for them to sleep without always having to be under foot.
