Here he is, safe at last. Frank.Hoggity Doggity....now with Bev and renamed Dori. He is going to be taken to see a traumatologist about his leg, just hope it's not too late after all the previous messing about he was subjected to.
This little chap is Hippi, a Portuguese Podengo on death row in Olivenza Perrera. He really needs to be rescued and found a home. This type of Podengo is not as common as the Ibizan and Andaluz, so it would be good to get him.
Hippi is about 1 - 1.5 yrs old, stuck in the over full kill pound at Olivenza - I have his release fee 30€ donated already, but no where to take him to for foster/adoption...he gets along well with the other dogs he has had contact with at the pound and is a friendly dog, if somewhat scared in current circumstance - have to get him out in the next 10 days...the pound is over flowing :(
Not podencos or other Spansh hunting dogs. We think Spain is barbaric in it's t4eatment of them, that's nothing compared with Thailand. BUT they passed their first Animal Welfare Act in November 2014. So why can't Spain act?
This is little Steve, a 6 month old blind podenco with Asociacion Baasgalgo. Here's the translation about him.
'So I have left with only 6 months old and blind from birth to ensure that there is no use for the purposes of hunting, or because yes... For us excuses. Steve wonder, so I have called this podenco that it is a little noble... Obedient, he learns fast and moves us his head when I talk to you.
It makes a life relatively normal, goes for your house reception temporary plays with the rest of the puppies, takes a walk good and perfect when he knows the way that He surrounds.
Looking for Home definitive where everything is return the love and affection that teaches us. He lives a very good with dogs and cats.
This video is to say thank you to everyone for believing in us and allowing us to realise our dream. A year of a thousand tears and a million smiles. Times when we were overwhelmed and it all felt too much.... then those magic moments when anything seemed possible. So many of you have reached out and helped in so many ways without you we could not have achieved so much for this forgotten breed of Spain.
Together we saved so many ... together we gave them a future. We will never ever be to able to express how grateful we are to each and every one who supported us
My organisation North West action for Animals have been asked by local independent rescue EDDAC to help raise the vital finding needed to help these Podenco puppies get to the UK from a high Kill pound in Spain by 16th January. They have effectively been dumped on the rescue and not wanting to turn their back on these pups, together we need to raise a whopping £1100! Please please help if you can. We only have a few days left. The puppies also need foster and forever homes.
