An appeal from Macu in Seville, for two podencos with eye problems, rescued from the gypsy settlement. She would dearly like to make a denuncia against these people but dare not for fear of reprisals. Here's what she says.
'These two podencos have sight problems. One is male aged 3 years weighing 11 kilos and one female.
The male is virtually blind and the vet has recommened he be taken to an ophthalmologist, as he believes the sight could possibly be restored. His neck hurts as he extends it to adapt to see.
The female is about 13 and weighs 9 kilos. She is undernourished, blind in one eye and has sores from sleeping on the ground. The vet has said I also need to take her to an ophthalmologist, but mainly I am concerned about the male.
It is not fair that I overwhelm you so with so many cases, but if you knew what these dogs are like when I remove them, smelling rotten and full of bugs, I cannot leave them. I have a moral obligation to help any poor souls like this who cross my path in my life, although most of the cost is my own.
Please help me. I need foster homes, adoption, sponsors for these dogs.
Thank you for listening to me once more.'

These dogs have been saved, they are not on death row like those in a perrera, but in order to help them have a chance of a future - especially the young male, Macu needs your help to pay the vet fees. She will happily provide copy invoices or quotations from the vet.
