Merlin & Faith came from Valencia Perrera, where Anke and her team are now helping. This was before they became involved and it was a nighmare trying to get the podencos out. Here's their story from a volunteer.
It seems to be a reccurring theme for Little Pod Association, this is the second family rescued by them recently and both have since had large litters of puppies. Yet again more Podencos in a Perrera, the clock ticking down before they would be euthanaized.
Merlin & Faith, both older dogs, had owners for many years and we don't why they ended up there, a wretched way to end their days. Finally Little Pod received confirmation they could collect them both and, once we arrived home with them, they quickly settled in.
However a few days later we noticed Faith had suddenly ballooned. A visit to the vets for an scan and it was confirmed she was pregnant and too late into the pregnancy, with significant risk to Faith if terminated.
Given that she shared her kennel with Merlin at the Perrera it was assumed he was the father and in the early hours of 2nd December 2012 ten puppies arrived into the world and are all healthy and growing fast.
It would be fair to say Merlin and Faith are of the older generation but both still have plenty of life in them. Merlin is just easy going and happy pottering around. Faith has been treated roughly in the past and cowers onto her belly, but she is a gentle soul and just needs a loving home.
At the time of making this video, Faith and Merlin had been reserved but unfortunately it fell through so they are still waiting for their forever home.
